Coolpad Cool 1 goes official, sports dual-camera and Snapdragon 652 SoC, for Rs 13,999
Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad, in association with LeEco, has announced the Cool 1 smartphone in India. It is the first device coming out of the two company’s partnership after LeEco announced that it will be holding a stake in Coolpad.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC, it is being offered in 3GB and 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM variants with an Adreno 510 GPU. The storage is fixed at 32GB and there is no microSD expansion slot. There is a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) display with a peak brightness of 450 nits and a pixel density of 401ppi.
The highlight of the smartphone is its dual rear camera setup. It features a pair of 13MP sensors with an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. According to the company, one sensor handles colour, while the other takes care of depth, detail, and brightness. At the front there is an 8MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an 80-degree wide-angle lens.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, infrared, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, FM Radio and a 3.5mm audio jack. The battery is rated at 4,060mAh and there is also a fingerprint sensor at the back. It will be available in Silver and Gold colour options.
As mentioned before, the smartphone will be available in two variants 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM both of which will be available at Rs 13,999. The 4GB RAM variant will only be available online via Amazon India from 5 January while the 3GB RAM version will only be available offline. The company hasn’t confirmed the launch date for offline stores.
